The New Inn Clovelly

Breakfasts were good,except last day,was only served 1 egg with my eggs benedict,basically only half of what they served the previous morning.

Early closing.

Loved the location of the New Inn - All the staff were helpful & friendly - the Bar was very nice & the breakfasts were amazing.

Breakfast in the impressive Hamlyn Room was excellent and it was only in the morning that we got the full impression of the hotel. Although we arrived at the time we said we would ( 6pm, soon after,, we seemed to take the staff on duty by surprise and the he lounge and reception areas were vitually in darkness.

The location was probably wrong for my walking ability, bit I rose to the challenge of Clovelly and really enjoyed the walk down to the harbour as far as the telescope and bench. Walking g up was much easier as was tge return to the excellent visitor centre and car park in the morning.

Village of Clovelly is full of charm!

Lovely location and a historic property, but fit out is overdue, everything from the restaurant, to the bathrooms, the bedrooms, the breakfast room - all a bit tired and grubby.

A perfect stay over whilst on our way to Cornwall, this part of north Devon is just beautiful. If you have never been to Clovelly, plan and visit, enjoy the history and drama of this stunning little fishing village. We stayed over mid week and the village was so peaceful, we were the only two people in the harbour area at one point - amazing! Full english was perfect!

Scaffolding was up around the New Inn and the workers started taking it down at 0715 in the morning and it's not a quiet job. It is a working village so we understand and it did not detract from our stay - just a general point, there will be works ongoing throughout the year due to the upkeep of the place - you sometimes can't have it all - the place is still 10/10.
