Solar da Castanha - Forest House

Die Gastgeber waren sehr herzlich und haben uns tolle Tipps für Touren in die Umgebung gegeben. Das Haus war sehr ruhig gelegen und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, sodass wir uns direkt wohlgefühlt haben. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker.

We had a wonderful stay at Solar da Castanha. The location is ideal — just a short drive from the center of Manteigas, yet completely secluded in the forest, offering peace and quiet. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. Ilda and Alberto are exceptional hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The breakfast they prepare each morning is delicious, and made with care. We also communicated with their son Pedro via WhatsApp, who gave us great tips and helped with our planning. Note: You’ll need a car to reach the property and to explore the area comfortably – it’s not suitable without one. If you're looking for the perfect base for hiking and exploring the Serra da Estrela — this is the place. Highly recommended! .

Todo fue estupendo,la atención de Ilda y Alberto, encantadores, amables y atentos para todo lo que puedas necesitar. Nos recibieron con mucho cariño y nos dió mucha pena despedirnos de ellos. La casa y su ubicación son maravillosas, incluso mejor que en las fotos.

No hubo nada negativo, todo estupendo

We hebben enorm genoten van het huis en de locatie. We hadden twee kamers en deze waren zeer comfortabel en super schoon. Vooral de kamer van de kinderen was heel leuk met stapelbed en hoogslaper. Verder was de locatie goed gelegen buiten het dorp Manteigas met een prachtig uitzicht. We werden verder heel goed verzorgd door Ilda en Alberto. Ze verzorgden elke ochtend een heerlijk ontbijt en gaven ons goede tips voor uitstapjes in de omgeving en restaurants in de buurt.

Fantastische plek, rust, natuur en toch ook dichtbij Manteigas. De gastheer en gastvrouw maakten de beleving compleet; lief, gastvrij, heerlijk ontbijt en precies de juiste tips voor een dagtripje in de Serra de Estrela, zwemplekjes in de omgeving en restaurant tips.

The hosts were very friendly. The location is great, both the house and the overall area! We also enjoyed the breakfast very much.

The beds are a bit stiff, but that’s a personal preference.

Everything! It was magical! Alberto and Iilda were wonderful hosts, they made me feel at home and welcomed me with open arms! The house had everything I needed and the hosts invited me to use anything I need from the kitchen. Alberto sat down with me to give me some suggestions for my trip and they were both so kind and loving. The location is beautiful and just like the pictures! Nothing bad to say.

We had a pleasant stay in Solar da Castanha. The place is calm, has a garden with shade under the trees. The owners were really warm and welcoming. We love nature so Serra da Estrella park was one of the best places in Portugal. Manteigas - a small mountain town having a few restaurants is couple of kilometers away.

Hosts were phenomenal and I felt right at home and relaxed.
