Barrocas do Mar

The view is fantastic. Built in 2019 so everything is relatively new. Lots of space, nice kitchen, 2 bathrooms, nice garden and a jacuzzi.

The attention to the ‘extra’ details gave me the sense that this host does enjoy accommodating travelers. First aid kit, monogrammed linens, towels and a coffee bar were very nice touches. The hot tub was an extra, extra bonus!!

More coffee pods would have been nice and the clock working would have been the final touch but didn’t impact my stay.

We LOVED the location and view. We also liked the amenities, especially the laundry. it was nice getting a couple little treats from the Azores, and we liked having extra towels. The whole place was lovely and the patio was perfect!

We booked the apartment on the second floor and spent a total of 5 days here. The accommodation is exceptionally beautiful and has several huge windows with sea view from all rooms, even from the bed. The accommodation was very clean and super well equipped, there is really nothing missing here (two bathrooms with towels and beach towels, hairdryer, huge shower, kitchen with usual dishes, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, stove, microwave, large refrigerator, washing machine and dryer, drying racks, ...). To the front facing the sea, there is a balcony where several people can easily sit and eat. To the rear facing the mountain, there is a large terrace with comfy seating and a barbecue. Another highlight was the jacuzzi, where you could relax wonderfully after the hikes and enjoy a magnificent view. Paulo, the owner, was always available and responded very quickly and friendly to all questions. The self-check-in was super uncomplicated. Prainha is a nice little coastal village; there are a few restaurants here and several small grocery stores. Overall, it is recommended for people looking for a quiet and peaceful place to relax. A rental car is highly recommended for the entire island, otherwise we would certainly not have discovered many beautiful corners. We enjoyed our time here very much and would come back anytime. Very good value for money!
