A Villa by the Sea Bed & Breakfast

The location is unbeatable. You hear the waves in your room (even with the windows closed). We loved having breakfast with a view.

I asked upfront about the evening meals and they said we could arrange it when we arrived but when we arrived it was all difficult and not possible. I think it was also €50 per person which seems to be quite a lot compared to the local restaurants. We really liked Atlantico Azorean Restaurant and the Mercado was also a great option with different kind of cuisines. Make sure to try the chocolate soufflé with caramel ice cream!

An absolute gem and perfectly met my needs of wanting a quiet getaway from the city. The fresh juice at breakfast I still miss :(

The gate was a little tricky for me to figure out how to exit the first night but staff are so responsive and one of the owners almost always on site so it was no problem

The location is superb; Pedro was super gentle & so welcoming. He was very responsive pre- arrival with our questions. Rita's homemade jam & granola was simply delightful & delicious.

Staying at A Villa by the Sea in Vila Franca do Campo was nothing short of magical. This historic villa, set amidst an exotic garden cascading over multiple terraces, opens directly to the sea, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the charming islet just offshore. Our room was lovingly designed, creating a warm and inviting space. The breakfast area, a spacious sheltered terrace is a slice of paradise—an ideal spot to linger for hours, soaking in the view and the gentle ocean breeze. Rita and Pedro, and their wonderful team, are striking a perfect balance between friendly conversations and respectful discretion.

Fantastic central location close by bars and restaurants. Comfortable clean room and substantial breakfast. Lovely common areas with sunbeds and seating. If you are driving we would recommend you drive to the property itself and then find somewhere to park along the seafront which is free of charge.

This property was absolutely beautiful with lovely views. The sounds of the waves added to the relaxing ambiance. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the water was very much enjoyed.

We weren’t planning to stay in Vila Franca de Campo during our visit but we stumbled across this bed and breakfast and instantly knew we had to book it. We stayed 3 nights and loved it. The view is breathtaking, the hosts and staff are wonderful, room is refreshed daily and the breakfast is delicious. And such a great location to visit the entire island. So glad we stayed here!

We thought we’ll come back to Sao Miguel for the nature. Turns out we might just come back for this B&B and stay much longer next time! Very nice owners and staff, the service is definitely of a 5 star hotel! Also the breakfast is incredible, probably the best you’ll have on the island. Stunning view from the bedroom, even better in real.

Amazing location, lovely accommodations, wonderful hosts. Would definitely stay here again! Pedro was an excellent source of local knowledge to make the most of our few days here. Rita was a wonderful host and prepared a delicious dinner on our last night. Terrific.
