The Dog and Gun

Very clean, everything had been thought of, including overnight essentials in the bathroom. Good quality tea and coffee in the room too. Staff were very friendly and helpful, always checking that we were happy. We would stay again without any hesitation.

The only proviso would be that we would want to be at the opposite end of the building to where we were. Room one is quite literally next to the road. The noise makes you jump when large trucks go by. Even though ear plugs were thoughtfully provided, we would not want to stay in that room again. In every other way, we were more than happy.

Ther service was amazing, we were greeted with cookies and milk and friendly staff, food was apasolutly amazing, rooms were nice and clean and comfortable, totally would go back

Characterfull old coaching inn recently given a sympathetic re-furbishment. superb breakfast and evening meals available. nice beers,ales and local ciders in the bar. staff friendly and efficient. Bed comfortable and room clean and warm.

Breakfast v good. Staff excellent. Beer cold and wonderful. Room, bed & shower great, heating was v hot, open window cooled the room but offset by road noise; location can’t change that. On balance…. Will visit again.

Turn heating down!

The room was lovely and cosy and well presented. The cookies on arrival is a lovely touch with fresh milk provided for the tea and coffee in the room. The bed was very comfortable. Very good breakfast provided with generous portions.

Only negative was i had a little trouble getting a parking space when I arrived as it was mid evening and the restaurant was busy.

Excellent quality all around. Exceptional food, drink, staff, ambience, and rooms. Highly recommended.

Familjerummet inte lämpligt för fem personer. Bäddsoffan klen och obekväm och funkade inte för två. Men bra att vi fick egna täcken, utmärkt personal!
