The City Arms

Good location and position, basically comfortable room and good bathroom size. All clean.

Two main things. First, whilst there was a window, it was glazed obscure so all you got was light, no view of any kind. If you opened the window, you could see a wall less than a metre away, with netting above to keep out the pigeons, though you could hear them.... Second, the shower control was both hard to use (small and slippery, no grip) plus delivered water which was hot or too hot - not enjoyable.

The bed was firm.

The bathroom has no door and no walls. There is no privacy whatsoever -- and it did not feel like a hygienic place to sleep.

Cleanliness, local

Very clean room, nice shower, very central. Staff could not have been more helpful. Restaurant unfortunately closed but plenty of good places to eat in 3 min walk. Music night so some noise but shut off at a reasonable time, as expected.

Got what we expected, so all good.
