The Sheppey Inn

Perfect position for excursions around the Mendips in a quirky pub with the most amazing room. Private balcony with view over the field and stream. Facilities were just what we needed and there were even games in our room. Breakfast perfect in the room which meant we could go at our own pace .

The property was in a remote location and it was nice as a countryside getaway, especially being from London. The room was very nicely decorated and spacious. I especially love the small details the owners provided, e.g. the complimentary cereals, orange juice, milk, yoghurt, books and board games in the room.

There’s not much to not like, if at all. One thing I would say is that the door to the entry of the building was unlocked and could not be locked. Thankfully we could lock the door to our room so that wasn’t an issue.

We liked the decor of The Sheppey. The location of the outside terrace which overlooked the river and fields made it an ideal place for a drink or two after dinner! Staff were super friendly.

Parking was limited at the Sheppey but plenty of on-street parking available.

Friendly owners and staff, excellent food and lovely, quirky surroundings in the Inn. Fabulous to sit in the sunshine by the river with a coconut rum and the ‘electrifying buzz button’ dessert is a must.

The Inn and accommodation were perfect - the lanes nearby though are very narrow and as a nervous passenger I didn’t enjoy. This is purely a personal comment and my own fault for loving this area so much!

Lovely room, beautiful location, unique place, nice staff. Excellent food & drink.

Hosts were very welcoming and excellent pub on site. The room was a great size and the noise from the pub wasn’t disturbing at all, and there was an event on too. Close to Glastonbury too, only a 60 minute walk for us, as we didn’t want to drive in.

Had the best time, amazing room and welcoming staff. Definitely a few nights to remember.

A lot of spiders in the corridor with the stairs but I get that can’t be helped, especially this time of year

The whole experience was amazing. The beautiful decorated room with comfy bed and simple but delicious breakfast. The food in the restaurant. The staff working in the restaurant. Close to Glastonbury and Cheddar caves. Definitely coming back here.

Nothing. Only feedback I would give is that a mirror on the wall in the bathroom would be handy

This is a fabulous pub with beautiful rooms. The food in the restaurant was exceptional. The managment & staff were amazing. Our room was gorgeous, huge comfy bed, well equipped room, beautiful balcony
