Very friendly and really helpful hosts, which tried everything, that I feel good and comfortable and who provided me with all the information, which I could need. Helpful in every respect. I liked my room on the upper floor, where I could sit outside as well. Rooms are clean and Wi-Fi was very quick.

Compared with similar home stays, where I stayed in India, pretty expensive. And it was my first home stay in India, where no discount was accepted for a single traveller, when I got a room, which actually was for 4 persons and my first home stay, where no breakfast was included. But how it was explained by Balaji I had to consider as well, that with online booking he needs to pay almost Rs 1000 as commission. Cocks from the neighbours started crowing well before the wake up call from the mosque nearby, but probably this is my personal problem, because I have a light sleep. UPDATE AND EXPLANATION, WHY I REDUCED MY INITIAL REVIEW FROM 9 POINTS TO 7 POINTS SOME TIME AFTER MY STAY There was something, what I did not like and where I discovered the problem only later. When I asked Belaij for a pick up to his place, he told me, he would arrange my pick up and that would cost me 1.000 Rupees - google maps showed 9,9 km. Later I found, that there are several websites for taxis like "kumbakonamfriendstrackcalltaxi", which offer on their website taxis: 20 km for 400 - 500 Rupees. Searching more I found very many rickshaw apps, to book a rickshaw online. There is no price negotiation. The apps show the regular rickshaw price, which varies depending f.e. on time and traffic, but 200 - 250 Rupees for 10 km is a typical average rickshaw price, if there is not much traffic. Could be even cheaper if negotiated without using the apps. Belaij approached me to help me with a rickshaw. Distance 10 km, mostly open road outside the city. But he told me, when he arranges it, he can not arrange it for 400 Rupees; - which is a already a bit of a rip off price for tourists, who do not know the regular and fair rickshaw prices in India. Belaji said, if he arranges it, I had to pay 450. Which I unfortunately did. Hotels charge overpriced rates for transport. But this is a home stay. Home stays should help their guests with regular and fair transport prices.

The stay was wonderful. It felt like home with Mr. and Mrs. Balaji and the support staff were also very helpful and sweet. Mr. Balaji also suggested places to visit around Kumbakonam ahead of our stay and on the way to the next place. So our journey was smooth and time efficient.

The location is easily accessible but it's more convenient with a car.

Very friendly hosts with great hospitality. The hosts gave a lot of suggestions on temples to visit, places to eat and shops. The apartment was new, clean and comfortable. Air conditioning and geyser were very functional. Good wi-fi with repeaters in the apartment. Enough space to park cars.

This is outside the main town away from the temples and restaurants. It is not a major issue if you have your car (and you can order food and get it delivered to your room)

Neat and clean home stay.. Balaji and his wife take care of us like their family members.. Felt like staying in our home.. Beds were neat with sheet changed daily.. Balaji guided temple and food options.. Definitely will be visiting with family again in our next trip..

Nothing as such

Very comfortable and peaceful. The hosts treat like family members and make every effort to guide you through everything. You feel like home waking up in the morning and you can also feel the country side. Plenty of space to park the vehicle. Suggest this place very much for a great stay and time at Kumbakonam.
