Location and staff

Food was average both at lunch and dinner. Breakfast was poor and my sausage sandwich was inedible. Also they don’t start serving breakfast until 9am! That is quite frankly ridiculous. I stay in hotels etc most weeks and never have I seen such a late start to breakfast. This is obviously designed to suit their needs and certainly is not in the best interest of their guests who might have early plans for the day. The whole place looks like it needs a refresh. The tables and chairs in the dining areas were grubby and dated. At breakfast the following day discarded napkins and a rogue “half eaten chip” was on the floor under our table which suggested that no real clean had occurred after a busy night before. Our accommodation was up a stairwell that had been half painted and looked like it was mid construction. Very unappealing and they need to sort this out as it gives a very poor presentation of an already “tired” property. Our room was ok. The bed was very soft but we could live with that. Usual refreshments etc that were ok. However if you look on the photos on booking.com and contrast with what you actually find then you will be disappointed! Photos show White Company toiletries and they certainly were not those! Supplied toiletries felt “cheap”. The radiator in the bathroom was full of rust and just looked grubby. We stayed two night and our room was not serviced properly. Yes they restocked the refreshments but no towel change and the bed was not even made! Whilst I can cope with not changing the towels to respect the environment again the service on the room felt like it had been done quickly and without any attention to detail. We had high hopes for this place largely based on reviews and photos. We paid over £220 a night and in all honesty it’s not worth that amount at all. Yes I know it was at a weekend and we have seen rooms advertised in the week for @ £85. At that price one might see it as ok.

There was nothing to dislike but another time would book when the restaurant and bar were open.

We were looking forward to staying at this location for a break. We are two disabled Mum's and have had alot of trauma and thought this would be idealic and tranquil on the coast. Unfortunately, we caught a sickness bug which was out of our control so had to cancel last minute.

The owners would not even reason with us or attempt to refund us and referred us to their policies which we felt were inhumane, we couldn't even speak to a member of staff as no ansa & was text only. We were also not told on booking that their is no dinner service on Mon/Tues yet we booked B and B.

Location and view from terrace was lovely. Easy access to walk along the beach.

The check in experience was not good as only a handyman on site to provide code for a key. We weren’t informed reception would not be open on a Tuesday. Therefore there was no way to gain information. A number of staff were unable to answer queries during our stay. There were a few minor issues with cleanliness in the room and some repairs required. The exterior door to the guest rooms was left open late at night. We were also disappointed with the quality of the food at breakfast and felt our evening meal in the restaurant wasn’t good value for money, given the high prices.

The time to be served was very long and it wasn't that busy, I think it was very early in the season and they were getting up to speed. The staff however were very friendly and helpful just felt a bit abandoned at times. The bed was simply too soft, it was one of those beds you sit on and disappear into unfortunately, so we didn't get the best nights sleep.
