Plitvica River House

Ante was the consummate host. The facility is vey nice and located in an idyllic location. To our surprise the dinners we had were some of the best during our entire vacation. Ante’s knowledge of the park helped make our visit much better. When my husband left his sport coat behind Ante had it delivered to our Zagreb hotel by his nephew!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay at Plitvice River House was absolutely exceptional, and so much of that was thanks to Tony, who is quite simply the best host we have ever met. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help with anything we needed. Always smiling, kind, and thoughtful, he went above and beyond to make our stay special. On arrival, Tony took the time to help us plan our visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park, sharing invaluable tips and local knowledge that helped us avoid the crowds and make the most of our day. His advice completely transformed our experience and made what was already a beautiful place feel even more magical. The rooms were lovely, exceptionally comfortable, and equipped with everything you could need, including a well-stocked minibar. Every detail had clearly been thoughtfully considered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding. Everything was homemade, from the delicious jams and granola to perfectly cooked eggs made to order. It was one of the best breakfasts we have had during our travels. We also enjoyed dinner at the property, and it was incredible—a beautifully prepared three-course meal that was exactly what we needed after a day exploring the national park. Even when we were checking out, Tony continued to go above and beyond, taking the time to research and recommend places for us to visit on our journey to Zadar. His generosity, warmth, and genuine care for his guests are something truly special. Plitvice River House is a wonderful place to stay, but what makes it unforgettable is Tony. He is one of the kindest, most hospitable people we have ever met, and we cannot thank him enough for making our stay so memorable. We had an absolutely excellent stay and cannot recommend enough! Food was amazing, cottage was immaculate yet very charming, the hosts were warm and welcoming. We left wishing we had booked longer.

The breakfast was excellent. We were surprised that the cost of breakfast was not included in our room rate as all other breakfasts were on our stay in Croatia. The service was also terrific.

Super friendly owner gave us all the details we need for our 1 day park visit. Delicious dinner, playground for kids, very well furnished clean rooms, can’t beat the location which is so close to the third entrance!

Nothing! Everything was lovely!

This apartment is a must-stay for anyone visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park. It is located right by the entrance, in a beautiful house surrounded by the most peaceful and scenic area. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with lovely details throughout. Everything had been considered- from extra face towels to all the little touches that made the stay feel especially comfortable. Our host, Ante, was absolutely amazing. He welcomed us as though we were guests in his own home and took care of every need. We received clear instructions for visiting the park, as well as wonderful recommendations for our next destination. The hotel restaurant was also fantastic, with a beautiful menu that made for such a wholesome and comforting dining experience. We highly recommend booking a table in advance. Overall, our stay was amazing, and we cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely be coming back to this gem!

Nothing it was perfect

Amazing location with a short walk to entrance 1 which is not a crowded entrance. Host was amazingly friendly, gave us good advice about hiking the park, the food was so delicious. Brad’s were comfortable a d the room was very clean.

Lovely hosts made our stay in this beautiful property extra special. We enjoyed being close to the less utilized 3rd entrance to Plitvice Lakes, helping us avoid big crowds. An evening stroll to a nearby viewpoint after a delicious dinner was a great way to end a busy day of exploring the park. Tony gave us great advice to best navigate the park.

Ante was very welcoming, food was beyond delicious, rooms were lovely, very convenient to Plitvica Lakes (and Ante gave great recommendations about how to avoid crowds and navigate the area).
