Staff was friendly

My experience was very disappointing. While the staff was friendly and helpful, unfortunately, the room was in a deplorable condition. It hadn’t been cleaned properly, the hot water wasn’t working, there was a used soap left behind, and the internet, which was advertised, didn’t work at all. I expected better and wouldn’t recommend this place based on my stay.

Me and my partner stayed at Ella River Face Inn for 4 nights. We had an unbelievable stay. Kumara and his family were incredible hosts and made us feel very welcome. They served us tea and often papaya most days and were always available to help if needed. Kumara assisted us on a morning hike up to Ella Rock for sunrise which was a good 2 hour climb to the top and he also drove us into Ella town on a couple of occasions as he has his own tuk tuk. The room had everything we needed (including our own balcony with a great view) and was very good value for money. Highly recommend if you're looking for an authentic homestay experience in Sri Lanka.
