Ella River Face Inn

Oh my word, what an incredible family. Within our two nights here, I can honestly say me and my partner adore them. They are wonderfully good people who will go above and beyond for their guests. We especially enjoyed the little boy there who became a photographer with our camera. I hope to send the photos once I return home. He kept us entertained as he is very funny. Humour is something all of the family have and it’ll make you stay even better. Our host joined us on a walk up to Ella Rock and we made the joke of anytime I was struggling (the whole way) he kept saying “10 minutes” to keep me going. It was very funny. I will warn you now, it is definitely not suitable if you are not a hiker. The view on the balcony is absolutely stunning. I loved watching the mist disappear amongst the trees within an hour and just the view in general. Sitting there whilst drinking tea was really special. The room has a mosquito net - a must in Sri Lanka. The bed was really comfortable and on the cold nights we were given a 2nd blanket but the 1 was all that we really needed as the room is warm. The shower water is cold but it is the same everywhere in Sri Lanka - it is good for you!

Absolutely nothing - only that we couldn’t stay longer.

We arrived to accomodation at night, when we woke up at morning and saw the beautiful view from our terrace, that was amazing. Very helpful and kind host. Thank you for guided to Ella Rock. The way to the top starts from this apartment. The host help us with transport to our next stop. The son of host has tuk tuk, is it possible use it.

One of the best accommodations I've had in Sri Lanka. The room was super clean, spacious and had a balcony with a stunning view. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. I would give 11/10 if I could. There are 3-4 restaurants within a 3min walk. Also the hiking trail to Ella Rock begins literally in front of the house.
