George and Dragon Ashbourne

The staff were very nice and doing their best to accommodate us

No car park, was told on phone there was parking which was misleading as we had to use a public car park some way away at top of a steep hill which we had to pay for Dangerously hot water from hot tap, they knew about this we were told but had not put a warning sign on it No bedside cabinet on one side of bed, inconvenient The whole place was very "tired" in appearance, o When pub closed no staff on premises, had to use a fire escape for egress and exit of our room. The whole place was very "tired" in appearance, badly on need of redecoration. Our bathroom walls badly stained by past water leaks.

The state of the room was filthy needed a good painting new carpets and curtains the bathroom was awful

Ideally situated in the centre of Ashbourne and very friendly and helpful staff. I did not eat at the hotel as I was attending a family function

The only thing that let the room down was that the bathroom needed a bit of sprucing up, however it was clean.

The George and Dragon is superbly located in the town. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable enough.

The room was desperately in need of a coat of paint, there was no headboard on the bed, no mirror in the bathroom (though the screws were still there from the previous one) and the toilet not fixed to the floor. The drastic slope of the floor made it feel like you were on a boat, which was not a nice angle to sleep in, but that is just the age of the property and I assume cannot be helped. We had dinner in the pub, each meal was almost £20 and it was not very nice. It wouldn't be my first choice in Ashbourne again, sorry.
