Riverside Inn, Aymestrey

Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely food, home prepared and locally sourced ingredients were used at mealtimes. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

I love the Riverside Aymestry so much! In a spirit-soothing location with nice gardens, the staff truly excel in solicitous yet unobtrusive service, while also being relaxed and friendly. This already exceeds what I've come to expect at the price level - and then there's the food! It's always stunning, with a very local focus, and our assorted intolerances are accommodated fuss-free. This was my first overnight stay after dinner; I was not disappointed. Very comfortable, clean, well-appointed and a fabulous breakfast. Deserves all the stars.

We stayed in the lower-priced rooms. Mine had an overhead rainfall shower without a handset, meaning I couldn't shower without also washing my hair (unless I missed it!) It's a tiny quibble in an otherwise perfect stay.

The hotel was accommodating about our arrival time coming straight from the Hay Festival and relying on a taxi which was much appreciated. They were also very helpful, with regards to a change in our departure arrangement to Leominster Station. The food and the service in the dining room were excellent, interesting menu and the gardens a delight to sit out in at all times of day. We spent two days walking circular routes in stunning countryside from the hotel about 5 -6 miles in length experiencing aw ancient woodlands not seen before which provided much needed shade. Thank you Hamnet and a FT article for the idea.

We loved our little lodge, which had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The staff were delightful and very helpful. We had a fabulous dinner in the restaurant too.

Lovely place and location. Really helpful and friendly staff. Woukd definitely revisit.

Nothing to dislike.

Everything from the first greeting by the ever helpful and friendly staff to the accommodation in the lodge. The food was superb and we appreciated the fact that much was grown onsite or else was locally sourced.

The occasional whiff from the septic tank which seemed to be in the carpark below our lodge, though it was a sweltering 30+ degrees when we stayed(!)and it certainly wasn't constant.

Charm personified. Beautifully appointed with separate and private accommodation making this a lovey stay. The restaurant was a culinary delight, both evening and breakfast meals. Riverside Inn is a hidden gem and a must stay.
