"Disappointing"

4.0

You can't be a light sleeper. The room was yards from the church bell tower and the bells chimed every 15 minutes all through the night, so I hardly slept.

"Very basic. Lovely town and area."

4.0

Its a room with a bed and a working bathroom. Hearing the church bells every 15 minutes was really cool, as well as the town of Cavendish itself. Nice breakfast baskets provided to the room.

No where to put luggage or hang clothes. No drawers. No hair dryer. No hooks to hang towels, no where to even hold soap or shampoo in the shower. Hard to manage the temperature of the room. Staff is essentially the bartender in the pub next door who hands you the key.

"Lovely place! well worth a stay."

10.0

The pub had a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were wonderful. The rooms are located next to the pub in a renovated barn. Our room included all the usual amenities along with extras like snacks, bottled water, and earplugs for the church bells. While the bells may not appeal to everyone, they fit perfectly with the charm of the village, and they honestly didn’t bother me at all. Overall, it offered excellent value for the money, and I would definitely recommend it.

"Lovely country pub with comfortable rooms"

7.0

Tastefully decorated lovely country pub (drinking only, no food) in a pretty village. A larger pub close by serves food, so no need to drive anywhere else to eat. Generous provision of cold breakfast comestibles in room. Very comfortable bed. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to help me with preparations I had to make for the following day.

The Five Bells is aptly named – it is right next to the village church, whose clock chimes on the quarter hour 24 hours a day. I was staying just before a family funeral and likely to sleep lightly anyway, but the bells meant that I actually slept for only two and a half hours. On the other hand, my son, whose room was even closer to the church, slept perfectly soundly.

"Pleasant stay at a reasonable price. Thanks!"

9.0

Friendly welcome in pub. Comfortable, warm room in small annex to pub. Generous supply of bottled water, beverages, etc and perfectly fine brekko tray. Ear plugs supplied if Church bell chimes a problem! Which they weren’t. 5 Bells is a drinks only pub - but food van calls and good burgers in the village. Very pleasant overnight stay.

Lack of storage space/case stand in smallish room.

Comfortable, clean bedding, warm shower, tea and coffee and breakfast basket. Welcoming staff

When I arrived they said that they did not have my booking. I had taken a copy of the booking, and fortunately they had an empty room.
