The Cavendish Five Bells

A church next door. the bells rang every quarter of an hour throughout the night

They had porridge pots and snacks in the room as Pub does not do food at all, but for our purposes it was OK. A good location to look around the village and nearby villages, nice old country village right next to the church so you do not need an alarm clock ! And a small tea room cafe opposite the green with good choice of sandwiches and cakes etc

Could not fault facilities and staff. Everything was perfect.

Not a thing

The location is a picture postcard village with a beautiful village green outside the Five Bells. A quiet location. The room was a thousand times better than expected. Comfortable, clean and modern. In with the complimentary toiletries are also earplugs and sleep masks. Amazing. The pub itself is oldy worldy with some smashing "characters" (locals). It is so friendly you feel like family. Love this place. Will definitely return for another stay (hopefully soon).

The church across the road has a clock that chimes every quarter hour and then counts out the 'on the hour' like Big Ben in London. However, I'm sure that's what the complimentary earplugs were for. (Not that big of a problem just not used to it)
