The food was good. The location is a pretty quiet village

The pub is a typical lakeland pub. Unfortunately, this one has not been kept up to date in terms of decor and cleanliness. I have never seen such grubby carpets. It is unfortunate that the stairs to the bedrooms are the same stairs used by the kitchen to the dining room, and, again, are extremelygrubby. The bedrooms need complete refurbishment, decoration and flooring.

Cooked breakfast was good but not much selection for cereals or juices

Room was comfortable and clean. The food was very good standard, we had two breakfasts and an evening meal. The location is very good for Penrith and Keswick, lovely walk from pub to Greystoke Castle.

We had nothing that we didn't like, would recommend this for a holiday location.

Food, location

We love the location having stayed in the area before. Always visit the Boot and Shoe but the first time we have stayed. The room was comfortable and the pub and garden lovely with a friendly atmosphere. Staff helpful and one member of staff ? Chloe sorted us an early breakfast as we needed to leave early for a swim event.

A fan in the room would have been nice due to the hot weather but it wasn’t an expectation.
