Explore San Diego-Balboa Park-Little Italy-Gaslamp

The place was great overall. The host was very helpful and responsive! I enjoyed that I had a little balcony and the room was quite large, comfortable, and clean. The location was nice as I could just cross the street and get to Balboa Park (to see El Prado, museums, & the zoo) and could also walk down to the waterfront in about 20 minutes. Great for exploring San Diego for the first time.

The main downside is that it is located right under the flight path, so you can hear the planes coming in (rather frequently). The host provided earplugs which was definitely helpful for sleeping. I wasn't in the room very often, so it was not a huge problem for me, but if you plan to stay in you may want to consider this as it will be distracting. To get to the apartments you will need to walk up 1-4 flights of stairs, so if you need accessibility this would not work.

Location to get around by Uber was good. Could have been walkable but neighborhood felt shady so decided to not venture out on foot. Building felt safe and most things were a short Uber ride away.

Did not like the neighborhood and the constant sound of airplanes. Could not enjoy the balcony.

Insgesamt ein angenehmer Aufenthalt. Die Lage ist gut und der Ausblick wirklich schön. Das Zimmer war sauber und man fühlt sich grundsätzlich wohl. Ein kleiner Minuspunkt ist, dass man die Flugzeuge relativ laut hört, selbst bei geschlossenen Fenstern. Nachts hat uns das jedoch kaum gestört, da zu dieser Zeit kaum Flugverkehr war.

Room was clean and the kitchenette had most kitchen supplies that we needed. Location was good! It was close to all attractions like Balboa park, little Italy area and San Diego zoo. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

I did not feel safe. The street behind has prolific graffiti. The room arrangements are a bit weird; they were each in 3 story towers. Also, the photos on booking.com showed a spacious 500 sq. ft. studio with a king size bed and 2 couches that make into queen-size beds. The room I got was half that size with one double (maybe queen?) bed and a futon. I have no idea how the mix-up occured, but it was on booking.com’s website. It was not the property’s fault.

Amazing Studio, well located centrally in San Diego. Friendly and helpful staff that responded quickly to my inquiries. Unlike some other comments, the area felt very safe, even for a solo female traveler (some homelessness is normal in Californian cities). Would love to stay there for long-term. Overall a great experience and definitely worth visiting.
