The Shoulder of Mutton

The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble even though they were so busy with Christmas meals and a disco which finished at 11pm so they were considerate towards the guests. Our room was small , cosy and we had a balcony it was spotlessly clean and very warm . Breakfast was plentiful and delicious as was the meal we also had there and a good choice of menu . Would definetely stay again.

We enjoyed a fabulous weekend away here. What an absolute gem of a place this is. I can't recommend highly enough, Lynne and the team are all really lovely and so friendly. The rooms were amazing! They are beautiful and tastefully decorated themed rooms and we stayed in the "Highland". It had the most comfortable bed and bed linen. It has french windows onto a balcony overlooking the beautiful village church. We have stayed at quite a few different pubs and hotels in the area as we always make a weekend of it this time of year visiting Chatsworth at Christmas. This is now our absolute "go to" place. So much so we will be visiting again early next year!. Thank you for the best weekend.

Going home, I liked everything

Lovely breakfast and far better than any we have had at bigger and more expensive hotels or hotel chains. Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. Cosy room but had everything we needed
