"Very nice stay in town!"

9.0

The central location in town and with a restaurant/ pub below worked out so well for us. The room was extremely clean with all the extras included like tea, hot chocolate, biscoffs. We met some nice locals while having a pint then had a very enjoyable dinner in the dining area before going up to our room after a long day. It is a popular place at dinner time! Also the free parking was ample. You can tell they take great pride in what they do and they do it well.

The room/bathroom is not very big at all but that is pretty standard in the UK. Our room also had a lovely little outdoor deck. We always sleep with earplugs so I’m not sure if there’s noise from below but we didn’t find it noisy at all.

"Hidden little gem"

10.0

From the minute we walked in the door, we were made very welcome by the staff. Our room was Dormouse, which is a small but well thought-out room with everything you need for a short stay. Exceptional clean, couldn't find a fault! Breakfast was fantastic for the price, good choice, with good quality ingredients. Very tasty! We decided to eat in the restaurant that evening and again the food was good quality with plenty of choice and the service was superb. Yes, this place isn't in the centre of castleton, but it's only a short walk or bus ride away, and well worth it for the money. We will be back soon 😀

The steak was beautiful but would have been 11/10 if you had peppercron sauce as an optional extra 😋

Lovely pub, great food, parking on site, view from balcony, very clean, comfy bed, welcoming and informative host and staff.Thankyou.

There was nothing not to like, the hosts gave us ample notice that the room is small/snug. However it was so comfy and delightful so not an issue.

"wonderful, food, hosts, and views and would use again."

9.0

evening meal and breakfast absolutely superb, staff lovely and welcoming while staying professional, room clean comfy and quiet. guests in bar in evening super friendly, other guests also staying seemed content and gave off a nice vibe. The breakfast dining area floods with sun and the high Georgian ceilings made the room really pleasant. Lynne who hosts cooked breakfast herself and it was quality produce, even the fresh fruit compote and prunes were top fresh sweet quality. She cooked exactly what and how we required and in plentiful amounts, no lunch was needed the whole day!

The shower in our room had a switch on/off issue, very stiff, poor mum couldnt turn on and after I helped her she then couldnt turn off and got a cold shower at end, this made her open door and then wet the floor where upon she nearly slipped, my shower was ok but I couldnt turn off and then got a scalding instead, having been forewarned I was ready and pushed nozzle to wall, Cant really complain as as soon as mentioned to hosts they were advising house keeping and I'm sure it was fixed straight after our exit.
