"Great place to stay - beautiful setting and characterful pub with hood food"

Excellent evening meal and hood breakfast in thus delightful traditional lakeland pub. Staff friendly and room comfortable.

Mattress a bit on the bouncy side but room fine on the whole.

"Lovely pub stopover, very friendly and smashing location."

Staff were so welcoming and incredible, couldn't do enough for you. The location is truly superb and the pub is just lovely. Had a good meal there as well.

Bed wasnt great, springs creaking and sticking in my back when I moved. Black mould in shower (push button Triton, tricky to get temp right but just about did the job), rooms definitely need a refresh but they know that and it's on their radar. Breakfast was very late, as a hiker, I was hooking onto a big walking group at 8.45am, breakfast started at 8.30am. That's the latest I've been offered breakfast in any stay I've had and I do this fairly regularly, didnt have time for the cooked breakfast but they were very sweet and offered to make a sandwich for the hike. A few others at breakfast were doing the same hike and had the same concerns.

"Food amazing, location wonderful"
