Lake Batur Cottage

Beautiful cottage, very welcoming and attentive hosts - amazing location with local warungs nearby which are also amazing. Highly recommend staying here

Where to start!!! We came to do the trek to Mount Batur and ended up finding one of the most welcoming family of our trip. We were taken care of by this family who organized out trip to Mount Batur, prepared homemade breakfast, brought us to a local warung to discover the nasi padang, gave us cooking classes and took care of our laundry. The cottages are comfortable and clean. This was one of our best bookings considering the price we paid.

The Batur region is known for having a lot of flies which can be unpleasant.

Says kitchen but nothing really no fridge knives plates so on . Next no one around or help .

No response when arrived, we couldn't find the place and they didn't pick up for 20 minutes. Eventho they approved our arrival time. Electricity went off randomly and have we not contacted them it would probably be off longer. Shower stops giving hot water after 1 minute and turns cold. Staff looks over the edge of our garden and peeks inside when bringing breakfast, that made us very uncomfortable and disturbed our feeling of privacy. Only after 2 days we received towels. Daily housekeeping wasn't done. Kitchen (and the pans etc) were not clean and infested with ants. Many amenities that are promised on booking.com were not there or broken. Such as fridge and hairdryer for example. Also they provided dish soap as shampoo and body soap. We made these complaints known to them to find a solution but they didn't take us seriously, and after naming all the above they just replied specifically to the towel complaint with "oh our cleaning lady must have forgotten the towels sorry" and ignored all our other complaints. Every night we are being kept awake by the loud noise of street dogs and roosters. We felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave a few days early and asked for a refund for the remaining days since there were so many things not right. They still have not responded (it was 2 weeks ago). I suggest to go to another place and not lake Batur. This place isn't ready for tourism yet and it shows. The pictures are misleading once you walk out of the resort the streets are filled with garbage and trash. The owner of the property doesn't seem to take it serious and does not take responsibility. I decided to give an honest review and warn others so they won't have the same experience as we did.

The owners were so friendly and helped with every query - they even drove us to our next destination when we couldn’t get a taxi!

I came here for one night so I could do the Mt batur trek. The cottages are so lovely. The staff are really lovely. The hot spring pool was so nice!! It's in a really quiet part of town away from the hustle and bustle. I will definitely stay here when I come to kintamani next time. The reception doesn't have someone there all the time, but there is a phone number and if you call the owners will come straight away. Highly recommend.
