Excellent location, wonderful staff, top pub

We stayed in the apartment, lovely, well equipped rooms very clean in a beautiful location -loads of interesting places to visit nearby and the wider scenery in this part of Herefordshire is stunning - great for walking. Plenty of space for two in the apartment- we stayed 2 nights and would very happily have stayed longer. The pub has a proper old-style bar area where people from the local area drink and make visitors feel very welcome. The restaurant area is very well set out and comfortable and the food is great - the full English Breakfast was all it should be and there was a good variety of well-cooked meals in the evening. There's a Forge (Oldfield Forge) nearby that runs a variety of courses - there are examples of their work around the pub - something to think about for another visit.

It was all very good - if I had to improve anything I would say there's a definite need for a new bath and surround sealants.

Minor - but feather pillows

Food was really good. Breakfast was substantial and cooked fresh ro order.

Noise from pub downstairs until vary late. No mention of this when booking. Rooms directly above pub so you hear shouting, cheering and doors slamming.

Breakfast was lovely, very tasty and just the right size. The room was very spacious and nicely presented.

The bed was very soft and caused my partner and I bad backs, this is perhaps personal needs and preference though. Room was very cold, again this was weather related however the heating did not kick in until late meaning we went to bed with a lot of clothes on to keep warm.

Staff were very attentive. Food was delicious (we had dinner and breakfast) Bed was comfortable. Room was warm and easy to adjust temperature. Ample parking.

I know it's a pub so we weren't expecting the room to be very quiet but music starting at 11:30pm did disturb us.
