Lion and Fiddle

Very friendly staff

Only a twin room available would have preferred a double but this is not a fault on the accommodation

The Lion and Fiddle is located in a pretty little village north of Trowbridge. The staff are incredibly warm and helpful and the bar, restaurant and accomodation are outstanding. All of this comes at a very reasonable price.

No complaints at all. This is an exceptional establishment and it would be churlish to complain about any aspect of my stay. This is a rare example of what good hospitality could and should look like and an example for others to follw.

The location was ideal for my commute to work. A journey time of less than 10 minutes. The breakfast was good and there was plenty of variety. With a restaurant also on site, I was able to arrange meals in the evening as well.

This isn't a major criticism, but the bed was a bit too soft for me. I prefer a more solid mattress.

For pub rooms it was very good. The food and service is excellent.

The bar music is louder than most other country pubs I’ve visited. But, hey it is a pub after all!

The room was warm. The bed was comfortable. There were two large comfortable chairs. There were sufficient electrical sockets. The WiFi was adequate for simple emails etc. There was a small table which could also be used for working. The Nepalese food in their restaurant was excellent.

The water had an odd unpleasant taste otherwise nothing else negative.
