Lion and Fiddle

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Parking was easy and accommodating was pleasant.

The bed was too soft for my liking.

The room was clean and comfortable. The higher noise levels were as expected due to the room being directly above a busy pub and restaurant during the lead up to Christmas. That said, we were able to sleep well. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We stayed for breakfast one day and enjoyed well prepared food. On another occassion we booked in for an evening meal and were very impressed with the menu and standard of cooked meals.

For the price and geographical area we were more than happy. Just bear in mind that the car park gets busy on weekend evenings.

The Lion and Fiddle is a basic bed and breakfast, comfy beds a good shower and a kettle in the room, dont expect anything more, but it did what it did very well, Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great breakfast, very tasty! Nice bar + excellent Gurkha restaurant. Plenty of parking, room clean & comfortable.

Opens odd hours and car park closed when we got there had to pay for somewhere else to park. Waited till 5pm to get food and they dont serve food on a Monday so had to get takeaway and eat in our rooms.
