Mountain nest

Mountain nest was the most wonderful place to stay! Our favourite so far in Sri Lanka. We booked for 1 night and ended up staying 4. The room was immaculately clean and it was close to the Main Street but out the way so it’s really peaceful. The lady who runs it is very friendly and even brought us tea and biscuits when we arrived! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay ❤️

Kind hosts. Big room, comfortable bed. We enjoyed the balcony.

There was a steep climb of about 20m to get to the room.

- really pretty place with a nice view, very quiet (we stayed in different places in Ella and Mountain nest was the quietest) - big room - amazing host, that welcomed us with pot of tea and cookies

- pillows were not really comfortable, super big and stiff - there was rather boliling or cold water, nothing in between

Lovely setting and balcony to sit out on. Nice big room, family were so helpful and gave us a lift in their tuk tuk. Great location.

The bed sheets were clean but stained. Other than that it was clean.

Really quiet and peaceful location with a nice terrace outside the room, but still only a short walk to town. The room was really spacious and clean.

I have stayed here about 5 times now. The rooms are spacious and have always been clean. The bed is very comfortable. The en-suite bathroom has hot water (solar powered so it may not work properly on cloudy rainy days) but I like my cold showers so it wasn't an issue. Towels and soap is provided. The place is managed by a young friendly couple. The host, Sanath, has a tuk tuk and his prices are very reasonable. I have stayed at quite a few other places in Ella but Mountain Nest is so far my favourite 🙂

The property is on a 20-30 metre steep incline from the road (as with most places in Ella) so the elderly and people with problems walking up steps may find this to be an issue.

The place is very close to the main road in Ella, so it is easy to reach the movida, but also it is on a smaller road, which is considerably quieter. Our room was spacious enough, with a small table outside with the view of the trees.

The lady from the property was helpful, but she lived in a small apartment close to our room, and sometimes when we need something, I felt uncomfortable to knock on her house door, with kids inside (we had a small problem with wifi).

Very nice room nestled in the mountains. Complimentary pancakes and tea on arrival was a lovely welcome!
