Blackburn Cabins - McCarthy, Alaska

Very well designed and comfortable cabins for those who like to be in the wilderness with comfort. It was great.

The cabin itself was very cozy, had a great supply of kitchen basics, the shower was warm, the outhouse was fine, and it was a nice spot to be. It was easy to access everything via the shuttle that runs down the street and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were nice.

Not sure there was much that couldn't been done differently but you do need to get picked up from the staff when you arrive as your car cannot enter the town. That is fine, it's a 20 minute wait. For us there was another group that arrived slightly before us which meant our wait to get to the cabins was about 45 minutes after a long drive, which was less than ideal. But not sure what they can do about that.

We loved this place! They had everything you need. It is remote Alaska - be prepared for outhouses and outdoor showers. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Really great place, middle of nowhere, great service, pickup from the airport and wonderful cabin with limited comfort but that we knew upfront.

The cabins were quaint and new. The shuttle picked us up and delivered us to the footbridge

No electricity, or electric outlets. Solar power (?) powered two weak light bulbs. Could not get the propane heater to work and no way to contact hosts since our cell phones did not work there. Outhouse was small and crampt.

For where this facility was located, the accommodations were great! A lot of attention was given to the clients comfort and they succeeded!

Did not understand the water filter, cabins could been farther apart, lighting poor

The cabins had a full kitchen set for pots and pans with a community grill. It was an epic escape from the mosquitos. The fire pit was super cute, and the showers were not “timed” so you could warm up, or cool off as long as you wanted. Also working with Livvy was an awesome experience as she made all of us feel extremely welcomed to her little cabin town.

The bathroom needs a door, an outhouse is fine, however, just a bug screen doesn’t give you privacy from the other tenants.
