Fun room decor, fascinating library, had a great talk with owner (Alex).

People in room above us from 3 am started talking loudly or arguing and making noises on the floor, which woke my wife up and prevented her sleep.

"Fascinating backstory of the founders of the hotel. A surprise find in rural WVA."

9.0

Great staff and a pleasure to meet Julia, Jenna, and Josh (all J's!). The library/reading room is extraordinary. Wonderful breakfast from Julia, who cooked the (scrambled) eggs and ham/bacon to order.

Since we went to ski at Snowshoe, we had a drive of about 25 miles each way between Mtn. Quest and the ski area. The room rates at Snowshoe were unaffordable, so Mtn. Quest was the best option even with the distance trade-off.
