"This is the one!"

10.0

If you are looking for the ultimate chill location to restore after an exhilarating active day of hiking, biking and Vermont at its very best....this is it! The location is the best in town, right in the center of the village. Outstanding place complete with nooks galore of places to relax, fire pits, picnic tables, wildflowers, lounge by the stream with crystal clear water rushing by...don't forget the s'mores! Re-boot, restore and leave rejuvinated. Mariah, Cam and Cash are the dream team and hosts. They are students of the area and continue to make a huge impact in the East Bruke community. Buckle up!

"Great Inn!"

10.0

We really enjoyed our time at The Village Inn. It’s centrally located in East Burke, with easy access to all that the area has to offer, and is a great place to host a family gathering. The innkeepers were hospitable, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable, and we would highly recommend the Inn.

"Great Inn located in small, hipster village!"

10.0

This is a great spot to stay in the Northeast Kingdom even if you're not biking or hiking the many trails available in the area. The Northeast Kingdom is an area we've never been to but saw it on Chronicle and wanted to check it out. The Inn at Burklyn was booked so we opted for the Village Inn and we were not disappointed. We had some trepidation about going from $500/night at the Burklyn to $130/night at the Village Inn but this quaint little Inn did not let us down. We stayed in room #7 with two queens and a sitting area. It had great space with a full closet to put your bags and the bed was really comfortable. The Inn is on a main road and room 7 abuts the street but the Inn is set back and it's quiet at night so it didn't affect us. I will mention that the check in desk is right outside the room so we did hear people talking (just once) but that's not something that bothers us. If you want more privacy, try a room away from the desk. The Inn has a washer/dryer which we didn't use since we didn't hike or bike but we did see bikers happily using it. They also have a place to store your bike and they have a great hot tub to use after a long day. The grounds are really pretty and there's plenty of wood to build a fire down by the brook or on the patio. They told us to help ourselves to the abundance of blackberries growing on the property and they were delicious. Across the street is a great coffee shop where we had a delicious breakfast and the general store was a cool spot for lunch. We walked to a nice place for dinner and across from the restaurant was an ice cream shop so you are all set for any outdoor dining. The Inn also offers a full kitchen with a refrigerator if you bring your own food. You can also use the grill. We're giving it a 4 for cleanliness just because we didn't feel is was impeccable (5's need to be 5's) but it was very clean. We're also giving it a 4 for sleep quality because it is on the main road (just remember it's Vermont and their main roads are country roads) and you can hear cars go by occasionally. Like we said, you can book a room in the back if you want. East Burke is a Mecca for bikers and there's a cool, hipster vibe but don't expect glamour. It's not trying to be that. The Village Inn fits in with the town's vibe. It's a pleasant, friendly, charming location with good food surrounding in the area and a pleasure to visit along the way. Don't hesitate to book it.

"The Village Inn is where you want to stay!! A++"

10.0

The short of it is that the Village Inn is where you want to stay. Period. Top tier. The grounds are beautiful, the location is ideal, the price is right, the rooms are clean and stocked and the new owners are an absolute delight. The property has a lovely brook, an orchard, vineyard and lots of common spaces - a hot tub, firepit, small library lounge and kitchen. The rooms are extremely clean and it is obvious that the new owners (2021) are putting significant effort into tastefully modernizing, but keeping the rustic charm of the old inn. We were lucky enough to get a tour of some of the other rooms at checkout time. The new owners not only went above and beyond with the service but also made great recommendations on how to spend our time in the area...chatting with them immediately brought great ease and humour into our day. It's also worth mentioning the location of the Inn is perfect for exploring the world-class trails (summer & winter) and it's right in the heart of the town for meals/supply runs & gear rental -but we'd come back just for the experience at the Village Inn.

"Best Spot In Burke!"

10.0

We had a great stay at the Village Inn. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with nice common areas to enjoy with others. The back yard is beautiful with firepits, brook access, and and great outdoor patio. We rode right out the front door and onto the trails during the day and walked to the tiki bar at night. We will be back to stay for more weekend adventures in the Northeast Kingdom!
