"Exceeded our expectations!"

10.0

We wanted to hike Mt Pisgah, and this was the best location in a nice-looking B&B I found. The Village Inn surprised us! The room with a balcony was spacious and comfortable, nice view and quiet. The bed was the best one we had in out road trip through VT. The access to the clean river and hot tub made out stay more memorable. For the price, I wished it included breakfast, but there is a place to eat breakfast just across the street. We only stayed for one night, I was charged $25 dollars for not meeting the 2-night minimum requirement. Walking distance from anything you may need in town. Mariah was very nice! Mariah's mom was visiting and it was so interesting to talk to her! We will be back!

"Quiet, pleasant charming roomy."

10.0

We only live less than two hours away but desperately needed time away. The Village Inn was perfect. This time of year there were very few people around as ski season just ended. The accommodations were splendid. The inn is charming and well appointed. The people were very nice. The room and bath were both very spacious. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast across the street at The Lotti. It is just half an hour to Lake Willoughby. The lake is beautiful in all seasons including in April when it is starting to thaw.

"Great Stay at the Village Inn"

10.0

Visited East Burke Vermont to do some snowmobiling in the NEK. We had a great stay at The Village Inn. The rooms were very comfortable and large... Inn location is great as it is walking distance to restaurants and store. Walked across the street to Lotti’s for breakfast in the morning. Inn has plenty of room to park a trailer as well... access to the VAST trail system is right across the street! Hosts were great.. Mariah!

"The Perfect Getaway"

10.0

What an incredible place to sneak off too for the weekend! Amazing location - walking distance to all the food, five minute drive to skiing, beautiful river running right behind the property. The hot tub was the cleanest and most refreshing thing to plunge into at the end of the day (or in the morning because let’s be honest - anytime of day is good time to hot tub). The room we stayed in was so clean and massive - so much space for our skis and luggage. The owners are the friendliest people and are eager to make your stay the best ever. We can’t wait to come back!!

"Perfect Base Camp for a Week of Mountain Bikes & Adventure"

10.0

Beautiful, charming old inn, completely updated contemporary rooms with an amazingly friendly and accomodating staff. The property has so many little treasures - features and spaces everywhere. The blackberries were ripe on the vine and so plentiful you could eat them all day. We cooled off after our rides in the crystal clear creek in back. Prepped some meals there, walked to nice places for others. Just could not possibly dream of a better place to ride and relax. We are already planning our next trip.

"Making the Village Inn a yearly trip"

10.0

We made our reservation for 3 nights and ended up staying for a week. Enough said! Here are just a few of the things we loved about our stay. 1. The rooms + Inn Under new owners Cameron, Mariah and Cash, the rooms and Inn have been totally spruced up from new bedding to a fresh coat of paint and all new furnishings. They have done a great job keeping the original charm of the Inn while making it feel updated and very clean. We loved room 5 and 6. Next time would love to bring a group to Farmhouse Near! 2. The property + location Hot tub ✅ River for cold plunge and quiet mornings ✅ Fire pit for chilly Vermont nights ✅ Walkable to everything in town! ✅ World class mountain biking out the front door ✅ ....and much more 3. East Burke in general I almost don't want to write this - just so I can keep this place a secret a bit longer. But the village of East Burke + the ridgeline are so charming and home to incredible businesses. A few things to check out: - Lottis for coffee everyday + get the benedict - Wine Wednedays @ The Wildflower Inn - pump track + beers @ The Hub - sunsets at heaven's bench 4. The best for last: the hospitality! Cash, Cam and Mariah create the most welcoming atmosphere at the inn and it's the reason I will continue to come back every year. They are a wealth of knowledge on the area and always make the time to answer questions, help you out or point you in the right direction or sometimes even make you cookies 🤫.

"A Journey Best Measured in Friends"

10.0

The travel writer Tim Cahill once wrote "A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.” While this made navigating from San Diego to Burke, Vermont a bit more challenging it certainly made sense once I arrived at The Village Inn. If you were to ask me how many miles I hiked, the best I could tell you was a couple. If were you to ask me how many miles I biked, my best guess would be, well, more than I hiked. Swam? A little I'd say. And soon enough you’d be on your way. However, If I ran in to Tim and he asked me about the Inn it would certainly take a little longer. “How many friends was the trip?” he would say. Well, there’s Mariah of course, who showed me around, gave me the lay of the land (quite literally) told me where to get lost and sent me on my way. Cam does the same but in his own unique way, however I beat him in pickle ball right before I departed so I am not sure if we are on good terms. Cam, please return my letters. You’re right, there must have been an issue with your racquet.) If you meet Cam ask him about that infamous game. People say cash is king and that seems to hold true on the bike trails as well. If Cash asks you about your day, brag about you adventures and be on your way. For if you ask her what she has accomplished with her day, your grueling adventure will soon look just ok. Pat yourself on the back and head to the bar, you’re not going to win this one. You did great! Not Cash great… more great adjacent, but still great! Tim would say “ok” and try to walk away but I’d say Tim that’s just the people who run the Inn! I haven’t told you about John the Pizza Man, who can make you question your favorite pizza with 10 different styles (go with the Vermonter). Or the friend at The Hub that makes you the best coffee you’ve ever had right before your bike ride and pours you the best beer you’ve ever had right after. Or the friend at The Tiki Bar that, soon after the hub, makes you question the best beer you’ve ever had. I almost forgot about all my friends at Café Lotti that serve Belgian waffles so good you don’t mind that they demolish you in chess after bringing it to your table. (although judging by the pickleball incident I’m not sure even Café Lotti waffles can stop Cam from being a sore loser. Please Cam, it’s just a game. Grow up). I would tell Tim about the friends on the rope swing by the lake, the friends around the fire pit behind the Inn and the cows just a walk away! I would run out of breath telling Tim about the friends I can measure my trip to the Village Inn by. And Tim, relieved for a chance to interject, would quietly say “that quote was taken out of context”.

"Cannot Recommend The Village Inn Enough!!"

10.0

First time to the Northeast Kingdom and the Village Inn and I will most definitely be back. The property is stunning, rooms spacious & clean, and the staff were incredible. Cannot say enough about how lovely, professional and down to earth the owners are. The location of the Inn cannot get better. Could leave from the front door and be on trails for biking or trail running in seconds. The town and Inn are so charming!! But the best part of all was the staff made us feel like family.

"Great Find in the Northeast Kingdom!"

10.0

Looking for a fabulous adventure getaway? The Village Inn is located near awesome mountain biking trails (for all levels), gorgeous hiking trails and several lakes and ponds. We attended a terrific weekend birthday party at the Inn. The beautiful outdoor patio, gardens, and lawn were the perfect place to socialize and have fun (a great venue for a family party, wedding, or special event). The Innkeepers are tremendous and full of helpful information on adventures and activities. Across the street is a wonderful coffee shop that makes excellent Flat White coffees and breakfast sandwiches. It's a cool hipster town that's fun for the entire family! We will definitely visit again!

"Spectacular!"

10.0

The Village Inn was spectacular, not only is it quaint and charming the Inn keepers were beyond helpful, kind and knowledgeable about all the trails for hiking and biking. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the outdoor area was comfortable and relaxing and the gardens were in bloom. It was easy access to everything and the bonus-the adorable downtown area. Cannot wait to go back.
