Good food, nice bar, clean room

The staff were lovely and helpful. The food was excellent, very tasty. The pub was in an excellent location with a lovely view. The live music was also lovely.

We felt the room was very tired. We understand the building is very old but our room needed a bit more tlc. The bath had hair stuck over the overflow and my partner couldn't fit height wise in the shower and he is only 5ft 11.

Lovely atmosphere, really friendly staff and great menu. We ate in the restaurant which was homely. Service was excellent and food absolutely delicious!!! I had the ribs.

I couldn't fault the staff. They were very friendly and welcoming towards us and our dog. The breakfast was excellent and my dog even got a sausage which I thought was a nice touch. There was a good selection of beers for my husband which is always a bonus for him and the location of the hotel is amazing with spectacular views from the room. I think if the price of the rooms were to be reduced I would certainly stay again.

For the price we paid for a Sunday night I was disappointed with the room. It was very old fashioned and the furniture was quite shabby. I've never seen a bathroom so small, I could barely turn round. The tv is not much bigger than a laptop screen. I appreciate that its a very old building but the room number 8 is in desperate need of an update which you just can't tell from the photos. I think I was expecting more for 142 pounds which included 10 pounds for our dog.

The “double” bed was a little too small for 2 people we both thought which made sleeping an issue at times

We've just come back from a lovely time in Reeth. David, Helen and their team at the Black Bull were so welcoming and everything was very well-run and professional. We loved the cosy bar with roaring fires and great ales, lots of great food offerings at reasonable prices and evening entertainment too! The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. A hearty breakfast was included too! We will definitely be returning soon!

We have visited the Black Bull back in January for food, and enjoyed it so much we decided to book a stay in March. We weren’t disappointed with our decision. The room (5) was lovely, with a four poster bed and a sash window overlooking the village green and out towards Fremington Edge. The food as always, freshly cooked, good value and really tasty. There was music on Saturday evening, which was perfect for the atmosphere of the pub, which locals and visitors all enjoyed. As for the owners and staff, this is what really makes the Black Bull special, as they are friendly, helpful and accommodating to your needs. They are just really nice people who are happy to chat and have a drink , offer information about the area or just have a chat. The locals In the bar are lovely people who are happy to chat and drink and make you feel so welcome. After a couple of days here you feel like a local and when we came back this time for our weekend stay we were greeted like old friends. We will certainly look forward to our next visit 😊
