The Ship Inn

Tasty well cooked breakfast with lots of choice. Evening meal just what we wanted, a bit of mix and match.

The stairs were a bit awkward with luggage, due to the age of the building, but I could have asked for help.

A warm welcome, great locally-brewed pint in the bar. Breakfast deelicioius.

Bed was too soft for me.

Brilliant helpful staff, very friendly. Bedding and bathroom clean Plenty tea/coffee available in room, shame only one option of biscuits, especially as I don’t like shortcake.

Windows, shower, furniture, carpet.

The Ship Inn is well located for the forest and neighbouring towns. My friend and I were booked in for three nights to go fly fishing at Rockbourne trout lakes a mere 10 minutes drive away. The pub was great. Comfortable and inviting. From the moment we arrived all and every member of the management and staff were great. Welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. We ate at the Ship all three evenings we were there. A very good menu and the quality of the food was excellent and well priced. Again, service was excellent. Breakfasts were also excellent ( my favourite word for the Ship) A good freshly cooked selection or continental if desired. We were waited on by Ann for our first two mornings. She could not have been more attentive. Again, excellent. I cannot recommend the Ship highly enough.

We were very pleased with the room. Breakfast choice was excellent as was dinner. Staff were very helpful.
