Excellent location really nice staff

Despite being disappointed about the interiior of the Ship Inn , the staff were very welcoming and the service was good. They had catered for my diet too. The Senior menu had a good choice off the main menu and was very good value for money.

The interior of the Inn was tired, the staff uniforms shabby. My room was pleasant but the price was too much for the standard overall. i think £70 was the maximum I would have paid. It was the only place on your list actually in Fording bridge as I don't drive needed to be near St Mary's church . For the funeral I was attending on 12th June at 13:00 . Check out was 10:30 which I did for my room I requested that I could stay in the lounge until 12:00 as it was forecast heavy rain .They said no . Thought that was a little mean of them given the circumstances of my request. That's why I scored them lower. Good customer service is sometimes going that bit extra for reasonable requests. I think next time the opportunity to pay at accommodation I will do that . As discovered the pub next door did B&B and looked so much nicer

Arrived at The Ship Inn, was greeted by a member of staff, who was friendly and checked me in and showed me to my room. The room was nice and simple. I popped out briefly before coming back and all I was doing was just sitting downstairs in the pub, just minding my own business watching the women's football, whilst having my headphones on and not bothering anyone, when the same friendly person who checked me in came up to me and asked "if I would like anything" now at first I was like "oh they are just making sure I was ok" no as it turns out the manager of the pub, was going on at them because I was sat downstairs, without a drink infront of me. Baring in mind I not long paid £95 quid for 1 night in their establishment. The member of staff didn't know why their manager was being like that. I for one haven't a clue, like when was it compulsory to buy a drink in an establishment, I wasn't bothering anyone, just minding my own business. I had a good mind to going up to the manager and requesting my £95 back. Breakfast was included and was given the options of a continental or what ever i wanted. I opted for just a sausage and egg sandwich and a pot of tea. Breakfast was alright. I don't think I'll stay here again not because of the food but being made to feel unwelcomed by the manager just for sitting in the pub without a drink, as I wasn't hurting anyone. The rest of the staff was lovely and friendly.

I phone previously to ask if I could get a room to change for a wedding on the day told no . Free parking advertised is not available. Did not stay .

Lovely friendly staff who made you feel really looked after. Clean comfortable room. Lovely breakfast.

It was easily accessible, right on n the Avon Valley Path so we didn’t have to go off trail to find it. Breakfast was very good too. They have a bookcase full of books if you have time to read.

Sadly, kitchen closed at 2pm so we couldn’t lunch there, but there were other restaurants in town. We did have dinner there and it was very good. The Wifi wasn’t great but that didn’t really affect us very much.

The breakfast was great and staff superb. Location good but no parking although public park nearby meant had to go out before breakfast and put ticket on the car.
