GBGBFree Parking. Large very clean room with bath. Good food with 3 real ales and good breakfast but breakfast only on a sat or Sun. We used it as a convenient place to stop very close to A1 to break a journey of over 300 miles.
If we had been staying longer a comfy chair in the room would have been good as my wife sometimes finds it difficult to sleep.

I was charged £160 pounds on arrival despite agreeing to pay £144 on your website. Extra charge because I didn't book directly with the pub apparently ! ? Room was dirty, shabby damp and cold. The food was awful, reheated leftovers- inedible ! The first night i was kept awake via noise from the pub garden with is situated directly outside my door- Quite literally right outside. Noisy drunk locals having a jolly old time. Young kids tearing around in school uniform late at night causing havoc whilst the parents were all drinking. This eventually subsided around 1am. Second night not too bad just a handful of drunk old men in the beer garden / smoking area having noisy drunk conversations.... That stopped around midnight. At 0230 a group of around 6/8 younger people showed up in the beer garden right outside my door following being out on the town i assume? Very drunk very noisy.... Nightmare venue- You'd have to pay me to revisit that place.

AUGreat stopover enroute south away from crowds. Lovely country feel. Rooms were out in the rear old stables do parking at the door and no stairs.
Double bed. We are just used to wider beds and wider doonas.

No breakfast available during weekdays. This was a stop off for us to break up a very long journey. We expected to eat and get on our way the next morning. We would not have booked if we knew.
