"Lovey place to stay"

Fantastic and friendly staff, they make you feel like family which is lovely. I checked in a little earlier as the room was ready. Very comfy bed I slept well

My shower was broken - the temperature onob falls off and doesn’t turn well. so only able to get a lukewarm shower at best and as I was already naked I didn’t want to go and ask for help

Absolutely gorgeous little hidden gem. Staff were so accommodating. We arrived late but still served us some food. Amazing place amazing staff. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Room was immaculate. We stayed 2 nights to climb Scafell Pike was a 30 minute drive from here to the car park. Food was amazing. Pub garden was good also had a little fire for those colder nights.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Very comfy bed. Dog friendly.

A few minor repairs required in the bedroom and the room (especially the bathroom) was very hot with no obvious way to control the bathroom radiator.

"Little gem that has everything you need for a great walking or hiking holiday"

We were warmly greeted and shown to our room. Vickie informed us about the room facilities, hotel meal hours, etc. Very friendly and professional. The room was cozy and the bathroom was recently renovated with a great shower. We had all our meals at the hotel and they were all excellent. Miles, our dining room host is a charming character and always looked after us! The very best shepherds pie ever! They have a lovely beer garden that was vey popular with residents and guests. We went on two walks that were exceptional and started right at the hotel.

The building itself is old, very old and as such has its quirks, but that all adds to its charm.
