The Boathouse

Bungalow situé au calme au bord du Mékong. Parfait pour se reposer quelques jours. Un hamac sur la terrasse et une chaise. La chambre est très simple, une moustiquaire, un ventilateur et une salle de bains très rudimentaire (pas de chasse d’eau, donc on l’a fait à la locale, avec l’eau du Mékong dans une bassine à vider dans les toilettes 😅). Ne pas hésiter à louer un vélo à côté pour se déplacer facilement sur l’île.

Manque de débit dans la douche et l’éclairage un peu faible dans la chambre. Le réveil par le coq très tôt mais c’est le jeu quand on vient ici 😉

Einmalige Lage direkt am Mekong. Hilfsbereite, zuvorkommende Vermieterin. Tolles Frühstück. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Die Bungalows sind einfach, v.a. das Badezimmer. Leider ist die Trennwand zwischen den Badezimmern oben offen - war in unserem Fall kein Problem, da wir als Familie da waren. Es wäre schön, hätte es auf der Terrasse noch ein bisschen mehr Ausstattung zum Draussensitzen.

Restaurant takes some time, WC could be improved, lighting in the rooms very poor

Friendly, clean, good value for money and nice rooms right on the river with hammocks to relax in. The owner was great in arranging trips and onward travel and was really helpful.

On arrival at the ferry port at Don Det it is a bit of a walk to South Don Det, about 45 mins. When I did it it was a beautiful afternoon and a lovely slow walk - but you might want to hire a bike near the ferry port. That said the owner sorted me out with a bike at the guesthouse so all was good, but you need one to get around. The food is good but the menu is limited.

The room was great - big and comfortable and private bathroom. Nicer veranda to sit and watch the sunrise over the river. Can swim in the river there too. Just a short cycle into Don Det centre and Don Khone

Beautiful simple bungalow with the most incredible view. I so wanted to extend longer but had to keep moving.

The hamacks and the view of the river and the peacefulness, plus bed was comfortable
