Good location , lovely setting

We are an elderly couple, on arrival we asked for help getting our two small cases upstairs. The reply was that we are technically not allowed to help people with their luggage. Service was poor - we weren't even shown to our room. After a long wait for dinner, the main coarse was served immediately after the starter. The only option offered was a refund or they would place our main courses under a heat lamp until we were ready.

Location and friendly staff. Car parking no problem

Room was very close to the road so traffic noise but didnt spoil anything for 1 night

There is a good- sized car park and our room ( Buxton) was near so we did not have to carry our luggage a long way. I'd asked for a walk in shower, and it was a good size. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner in the pub. It was very central to Bakewell.
