Gamble Mill

The property was beautiful from the outside and the work they did to restore the mill and transform it into this space was very impressive. The room itself was very nice, although our bathroom was not even close to what was pictured when we booked.

When I arrived, I was very surprised to find no representative from the company on the property. I walked the entire exterior of the property and went up and down all four floors and halls from end to end and found nobody. What I did find were black garbage bags with trash on the stairs. I had some safety questions and concerns about the place. Things like whether a representative was on-site during the evening; if not, how the front door would be locked (since I did not see a secondary locking mechanism on our room door); and where I could safely park my car if the three parking spots were taken when we returned from dinner (the on-site restaurant said it was permanently closed when I visited the website). As a woman traveling alone with my 8-year-old daughter, these were big concerns for me. I called the property number and got no answer. My husband called and got no answer. An agent from Booking called and also received no answer. Unable to get any answers to my safety concerns, I made the decision not to stay. I requested a refund, stating that the property was beautiful but that I did not feel safe and, for that reason, could not stay. They never reached out to me and denied my request.

The thoughtful repurposing of the historic mill was beautifully done.

The mini split ac above our bed was challenging

The location. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were great.

It could use more towels, and a servicing for towels since we had four people sharing one bathroom. The couch was very stained and smelled moldy. I would also suggest getting larger coffee mugs and supplying paper towels and some dish soap.

Beautiful venue. Friendly and helpful staff. Gorgeous cozy rooms.

1. No door on showers means cold shower experience. Heater in bathroom or door could help with that. 2. Chairs at the high top breakfast table had neat industrial design but were very uncomfortable. 3. Main entrance was always unlocked. This should be locked whenever the bar is not open for business as it poses an unnecessary safety concern. Still easy access with the door code so any convenience to guests of an unlocked door isn't worth the potential risk (even if rare).
