Very characterful pub and room with wooden beams

The building is very old (1500 century), so has lots of beams and short doors, so lots of atmosphere. The room was well furnished and comfortable. The car park is out the back and easy to access. The food quality was excellent.

The area was lovely the hotel was rubbish

On arrival we went into the room , it had a massive stain on the carpet , the window stays were broken so you couldn’t keep the window open . The danger signs were the ear plugs as outside was another bar which was very loud there wasn’t any warning of this on booking so even if the windows could be kept open it would of been like trying to sleep in a night club The coffee machine didn’t have any instructions how to operate it , my wife had to google how to use it . There wasn’t a remote for the tv just for good measure After a long drive a hot shower would have been lovely alas the water was tepid at best In the morning it was so cold it was impossible to get under it ! In the morning we complained about the above concerns we were told that other people had also complained about the water , as we had paid “upfront “we were unable to get a refund or part refund , in my eyes if the offer had been made of a breakfast on the house it would of gone some way to smooth things over but no offer was made , I overheard a couple having their breakfast that it wasn’t hot !!! I was told that that an email would be sent to head office & I would be contacted which I wasn’t I called the pub direct on numerous occasions & left messages only to be ignored On the whole my stay can be only described shambolic at best

Vriendelijk personeel, prima eten en drinken, sfeervol.

Kamer direct boven pub gedeelte, erg rumoerig. Badkamer was opgeknapt, maar nog niet af.

Very nice location quite.

No hot water in my room for a shower so had to have a cold one. Marks on table too.
