Nags Head

The hotel has just changed owners and there were some teething issues, but the staff, especially the lady running the show in the evening, were working really hard to make our visit enjoyable. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent but a little slow arriving, the beds were very comfy, good choice of beer and wine.

There was no hot water when we arrived and the lady had to “fiddle with the boiler.” After dinner I turned on the bedside lamp and it tripped the lights and so I was in the dark for the night.

No hot water! I was working a night shift and just wanted a couple of hours sleep and a hot shower before long drive home but there was no hot water at all. I appreciate these things happen, but on checking out was told they knew there was an issue and were 'on it'. If I had been advised of this on check in I would have made other arrangements. Really disappointing as otherwise really nice place

The bed was springy but the main issue was noise. All night you could hear a boiler/generator going on and off. The decor was tired and the room was not ready on arrival.

It was a Sunday night - we almost had the place to ourselves. Staff were super friendly and breakfast excellent. The bed was very comfortable and we couldn't hear the early morning traffic.

Despite being a pub serving food, it doesn't do Sunday evening dinners. We knew that when booking, and were able to find somewhere else nearby that did.
