Host was very nice to let us check in early, rooms are well heated and location is quite near Andermatt centre.

The rooms are actually suites, with lounge and kitchenette and separate bedroom and en-suite facilities. Spotlessly clean and modern and very comfortable. The hotel is very central in Andermatt, quite literally a few steps into the central area of restaurants , bars and cafes.

Two days before arrival and months after booking, we received an email advising that the restaurant would be closed, other than for breakfast. As it happens, we ate very well and easily at the restaurants in town, it was just a surprise to be told in the manner we were. Also worth noting that the wifi is switched off at 11pm and not switched on again until I think it was 7am. This is supposed to be helping the green credentials of the hotel, but goodness knows how? Finally and most alarming of all, the hotel hit me with a £20 per night "energy supplement" on top of the approx £300 per night B&B charge. Needless to say I hit them back and it was removed when I refused to pay it. I do not like being taken advantage of and if they close the restaurant and switch off the wifi to save energy and money, why the heck should I pay forty quid more .......not happening.

Breakfast was nice. The sofa bed was actually VErY comfortable as long as it is just 1 adult. Clean and nice location in the old town. The new part is best avoided as it is a massive building site !!!

For 300 chf, I don’t expect a reception to be closed from 11am - 3pm when it is a functioning hotel with 50+ rooms. This made the check in process stressful as I had to personally ensure we could get the key early, otherwise we would have been sat in a cafe waiting for hours with our luggage. I wasn’t offered any advice on things to see in the area and also Missed the opportunity of the local travel card I was entitled to from staying at the hotel. I also request a quiet room and was given one of the nosiest instead.
