Breakfast and dinner for company was great, considering the hotel wasn’t busy in the evening we had to wait at the bar for sometime before we were served.

Friendly atmosphere and perfect location of a beautiful village.

We found the staff friendly, but it was like staying at faulty towers! I was given my food and after half an hour it was whisked away as it was someone else’s! It was funny but breakfast was the same, not getting thing’s right, to customers, it seemed like all the staff were in training.

The pure great attitude of all the people that work there can't fault them , we had a mill there which in their main restaurant the food was fantastic and the service was brilliant I left a 20 pound tip

The weather

Everything! We had another fantastic stay this time with friends also celebrating birthdays. Thank you to all the lovely professionals who made us feel welcomed and special. In particular the bar team, reception, dining and housekeeping. Thank you to all!

Refresh logs on the log burners more frequently as they kept going out and we absolutely love them. Real character!

This is a stunning hotel, well located in the centre of Lavenham and with a single exception the staff were lovely. Particular thanks to the receptionist who dealt with my complaint. A lovely lady

Having stayed here back in the seventies when it was owned by Trust House Forte I was really looking forward to visiting again. It was as gorgeous as ever and until my breakfast experience I would have rated it as excellent. However having been seated for breakfast I was then thoroughly ignored whilst others who arrived way after me had orders taken and were served. When I called the waitress who had guided me to my table over she said she was busy and walked off. Eventually I managed to catch the eye of another waiter and was served, but by this time what should have been the end of a relaxing stay had been spoiled. I complained at reception and my complaint was taken seriously and I received an apology from one of the managers - my compensation was a complimentary pot of tea while I waited to see her (!) Another point to note is this message from the hotel which I received after booking via Booking.com: THIS BOOKING WILL BE DEBITED FROM THE CARD PROVIDED WITHIN 12 HOURS, or immediately if arriving within 3 days. This policy is non-negotiable for third party reservations, whereas if booking direct with the hotel the rates are cheaper, plus our policies are much more flexible in terms of payment and cancellation notice. I found the message to be quite aggressive in nature- particularly the use of capital letters, but I did check the Swan website to see if this was the case as I had time to rebook with them - the rate was identical.
