Cabañas alto del aguila

A magical place. We were here in the dry season three years ago, now we are in the rainy season and it is amazing. The parrots, monkeys and especially Mono are something amazing. In addition, nice dogs and cats and even caimans were found. The owners are wonderful people. In their class a well-deserved 10. We love this place.

1. we were there during rainy season. During heavy rains, there was water was dripping from the roof. This was a long-term issue probably, because the floor broken under our bed during one night, so we had a hole to outside in the floor. Also our passaporte got wet because of the water from the roof. 2. because of combination of a metal roof and the weather, during the night it was very noisy preventing us to sleep - something was falling into the roof every 10 minutes 3. the shower was just a tube with VERY low stream 4. the toilet had no seat

I stayed for 3 nights and it was great to get away from a city and into nature. You are surrounded by lush vegetation, lots of monkeys and a couple of beautiful parrots. I took their kayak for a paddle into the lagoon where I saw some dolphins cresting the surface and more monkeys along the shoreline. Did not do any tours because I have some booked in Iquitos. But after talking to a couple of guests, they said their tours were really good. The hosts were very friendly and kind. I had a back cabana which was very quiet while you listened to the sounds of the jungle. I had a surprise visitor one morning when Lulu came to say Hola. Highly recommend this place.

Very nice place, located not in the village center which was a huge plus for us. If some funds were invested in this place it would be perfect!

This place is heaven for anyone who loves animals - I saw four types of monkey, made friends with macaws, and hung out with the various kittens and pugs that live there too :) animals aside, I also met lots of friendly, interesting fellow backpackers. The view of the river is gorgeous, and I could hear the rainforest chorus from my cabin every night and every morning. There was free water and free coffee, a nice breakfast option, and my private room was comfortable, clean, and affordable. It's all family-run and very welcoming - I particularly loved Helena's no-nonsense style! I hope I am able to come back some day <3
