Fondavela Hotel

The bed was maybe the best hotel bed I have ever slept in and the room was beautiful, although missing a few extra touches. Super spacious and close to the town. There is lots of great wildlife within the hotel grounds.

The restaurant and pool area desperately in need some attention. The pool was very uninviting due to the renovation around the area& jacuzzi is out of action which no one mentioned on checkin. The restaurant felt like a social club from the 70s or the back of a cold church hall. Could be super cosy and has great views, a real missing opportunity. The breakfast and decor therefore weren’t amazing - needs a rework. Would recommend Stella’s down the road for breakfast. There is so much to do in Monteverde we didn’t do much in the hotel except sleep so it was perfect for that. Side note, in room 37 there is one missing curtain in the curved window above the sofas, would be great to cover this up properly for an even better nights sleep.

breakfast is not good. Staff did not give a clear instructions to show the room location. No staff availability after 11pm

The room was very large and comfortable with a fabulous view over the grounds, It had windows on 3 sides. The landscaping of the site was outstanding and there was an excellent swimming pool. The restaurant was just OK and we always missed breakfast because it was too early. I was quite sick for a day and the staff were very caring and helpful. generally they were all very professional and also friendly.

The cabins are musty, super humid, windows aren’t properly sealed and there was lots of condensation on the interior of the windows. All our clothes and belongings were damp! Shower was large and looked modern but was humid, condensation issue, moldy edges to the tiles. No air conditioning No de-humidifier No comfortable seating area (just a small table and two chairs). No porch to privately sit outdoors. We minimized time in the room because of these issues. I woke up coughing and feeling sick.

The place is close of the activity. We see toucan and monkey. Room and bad are confortable, the spa is nice. The breakfast is very good. The 2 men's at the breakfast are super.

Kids are not welcome. The pool is fake juste for the look, we been there 3 days and all the time for any reason the pool was close. At the restaurant it's better to order the snacks menu then a la carte.

Everything was great, proximity to Bosque Nuboso Monteverde, spacious room, fabulous bed and super nice staff!

The property is in a beautiful secluded location with an awesome trail. Rooms were spacious and clean. Restaurant staff and food were great.

Cleaning crew left the patio door slightly open which led to some bugs getting inside the room. But the front desk sent someone to take care of the problem immediately.

Food was amazing. Staff was very friendly and helpful
