Fondavela Hotel

The property was in a perfect location and the new owners are working hard to replant the gardens, provide pathways around the property and modernize the old and tattered rooms. I'm guessing it is on its way to be a very first rate hotel.

The room was a little dirty and the windows broken so we couldn't close them during the cold nights. Again, I'm sure these issues are on their way to being solved.

Comfortable room and bed, good complimentary breakfasts, meals at the restaurant were very tasty. We enjoyed the pool and hot tubs.

The menu prices for food and drinks were very high for what you got.

room needed upgrade. wooden floors, people upstairs were stomping and woke us up early. Limited breakfast, no juice, pastries, menu only. had to make reservations for breakfast. Missed the buffet.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Looks a bit out of date. But don't let that hold you. Great view.

We could not sit outside. (anywhere at your room or at the bar were you could sit (dry) outside would be a big plus).

Fab food. Chicken Tamorindo and trout both superb.

The views are stunning (best sunset), the setting very special and the staff were amazing - helping with guides, booking and advice. Highly recommend.

The breakfasts were OK, could be better. Didn’t have dinner.

Location was good !

Our room had no view! We were shown pictures with a different room when we booked. We were not offered a different room when we complained. Manager didn’t care for our complaint. WiFi is not good. Servers at breakfast acted like they were doing us a favor.
