Fondavela Hotel

The property has very nice accommodations and is designed well. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Large room.

We already left these comments with the management staff that they need to use a different kind of wax on the floors as our floors in our room were so slippery. Also one of the beds in our room lost all its support and needed to be replaced. Wish they told us the pool and hot tubs were down for maintenance which is why we booked this property- the only thing they did was allow us to use the jacuzzi in the spa but unfortunately they didn’t clean it when I went to use it and the water wasn’t hot. I definitely feel we should have gotten better compensation for the maintenance issues during our stay along with construction noise and blocked path to the spa.

Perfect location, friendly staff, beautiful property

Albeit what you see in the pictures, the pool as well as the spa are closed for long term renovations. This is not stated anywhere here nor their website. And that was the main reasons for us to puck this place. When there is no pool amd spa the value for money on this pricy place is very low imho.

Our shower leaked all through the bathroom floor and bedroom floor at 3am. We had no apology from the hotel although they offered to move us but our children were in the next door room and they couldn’t move them as the hotel was full so we declined. The hotel fixed the leak so was fine from then on. As we needed 2 rooms it was fairly expensive stay for us and although you can def see signs of investment our rooms were very tired, the pool had many missing tiles, bits of roof missing, both hot tubs out of order, sun loungers all broken. Amazing views but no where outside to eat or enjoy an evening drink from the bar (plenty of places to sit in gardens) so for us it was disappointing.

Nice grounds and view from the property. About a 20 minute walk to the Cloud Forest and 30 mins into the town. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Wouldn’t class this as a boutique hotel

The staff was very friendly and the property is beautiful. The food was good and it was nice that breakfast was included. The location has great views and is close to the cloud forest and downtown Monteverde. We really enjoyed the area and would return.

Wonderfull proprety near Santa Helena (5-10min car ride) with breathtaking view. Hotel is clean, well taken care off. Room was spacious, confortable, well equipped (Fridge, TV) & delicious beauty products. Staff is very kind & helpfull, breakfast was good. Nice Swimling pool area. Clear recommendation!

The shower would flood, you had to make reservations for Breakfast (why? Hotel was not full) & the Laundry was way overpriced!
