Bathrooms were recently redone. The hotel offers direct beach access. There is private parking.

The hotel is badly overpriced for the quality, and contrary to the professional photos, thoroughly shabby. The walls/doors are thin, so we were awoken at 6 am by the sounds of staff making conversation in the halls. The food (a grilled chicken sandwich with fries) was the some of the worst I have paid for in years. Our interactions with staff weren't ideal either. And all of this for the price of a 2-3 star hotel in Europe. We booked 4 nights but left after one. We stayed the remaining 3 nights at an amazing resort in La Fortuna for less per night, with a gym, sauna, 4 pools, and breakfast included. Lesson learned.

The whole experience was disappointing and I was shocked as reviews are usually pretty accurate. I was suspicious as the rate was cheap and I was right to be. The property is dated, the restaurant is massively overpriced, the room smelt musty and the service was poor and very unfriendly (which has not been our experience in Costa Rica). We also went out for dinner and were locked out of the car park and had to ring the doorbell several times before security opened up for us (no one warned us that this might happen) and there is a bar opposite, the horrific karaoke was blaring until very late and we could hear it as if it was in our room. Relieved it was just for one night - chosen to be close to airport.

Rooms were nice and modern, bed was comfortable, cleaning staff and evening staff were nice.

Location right on the beach was amazing. The rooms were nicely updates, clean and comfortable.

The room number for the restaurant was an issue for us. Someone (mistakenly?) put several drinks on our room that we didn’t realize until after paying the bill. Extra 17,700 colones. The ac unit / remote are a bit unreliable for getting it to work
