Rondador Cotopaxi

The location is amazing close to cotopaxi national park! 2 hours from quitola lake. Owner was super helpful let us check in early. Very cozy, let our kids feed alpaca. Place was super amazing! Had all our meals at the restaurant and food was amazing.

Amazing staff and attention to detail. The staff spoke perfect English and were welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. They booked horseback riding for us and had breakfast ready. The staff gave us carrots to feed the llamas out front - a trip highlight. This hostel was the type of stay we were looking for in our adventure trip in ecudador. Our favourite stay during our trip by far!

We were upgraded to a bigger room free of charge. The place has a nice atmosphere, with wooden floors and fireplace burning in the evening. Fernando helped us organize a tour to Cotopaxi and to Quilotoa (though the price could be better), and Don Fernando was a great tour guide.

After having dinner there I got food poisoning, so beware. There were slugs in the bathroom.

Very clean and homely. The staff, especially the owner, were super accommodating and friendly. There are various animals as well and you can feed them. The breakfast was big and hearty and very delicious.

There weren’t really any other travelers at the hostel, but that is not the hostel’s fault.

The owner tried his best to accommodate requests & responsive. The staff were great in general The view from the patio/restaurant amazing if weather permit. The food also is good & they did cook for me vegan foods which I did appreciate. Lastly, the owner follow the rules of the establishment which seems he’s a bit strict; however, he is a great guy & welling to help if possible If you asked him for something. He also into music and owned different types of traditional music instruments which he did demonstrate to us and played some music.

The only two things which both are out of the control of the owner.. First is the noise from the street “trucks”passing by only if you are light sleeper but manageable & your room face the street. The other thing is the tours prices which are not the owner responsibility nor he got paid commission from what I understand; however, the guides which are amazing people are his relatives they should give guests at the hostal better prices than non-guests of the hostal … I get quoted higher price compare to non-guests but they manage to give me the same price at the end since I asked them to do so.

The location was perfect for Cotopaxi. Delicious homemade food and drinks. Cute animals on land. Charming rooms. Great vibes. Favorite place in Ecuador.

No restaurants within walking distance. I would love more information on available tours.

The employees were super caring and flexible, always very kind and courteous!
