L'Hostellerie du Château de Bricquebec

I booked several months in advance with restaurant but was told when arrived the restaurant was closed, no one from the hotel had informed me of this, had they done so I would have cancelled.

Was nice place. But second day there was no staff at all and family member had locked herself out of her room with car keys in there. We searched whole castle and surroundings but no one. Office locked up. We needed car keys to get to ferry that evening. After emailing and ringing we eventually found someone to open room. But spend hours hanging around and couldn’t go where we intended before we left.

We've had several very enjoyable stays here in the past., and we still like the location and the château itself, and the receptionist was very pleasant. But we don't feel that the new owners care about the enterprise as much as the previous owners did. See below...

We booked a dinner online in the restaurant, only to discover(when we finally found someone to ask) that it was actually closed for the whole of our stay. It would have been good to have been warned beforehand. Room still not cleaned when we returned at 6pm. Black tea and some milk would have been appreciated to go with the kettle in the rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It exceeded our expectations. The interiors were a little tired, but overall everything was perfectly charming. Lovely breakfast, clean room in fantastic surroundings. Briquebec is also a lovely town, the restaurant Le Relais de Contentin was great too (and possibly the only place to have dinner nearby if the Chateau restaurant is closed).

Unique place to stay. We loved the historic location.

The old Chateau has been beautifully converted into a modern hotel and the dining room / breakfast room is exceptional.

Breakfast was charmingly served by a young girl, but the product was very average

There was no one there. Reception always closed and couldn’t drive back to front of hotel most of the time. We’re in our eighties and this creates problems.

Quirky, good value, great location. Bike parking.
