Friendly staff and perfect location for coast path walking.

It did what we needed, a nice warm room for the night. Nothing particularly special, definitely cater to a particular demographic. Breakfast ok, not cooked fresh.

The crew was well-trained. Though what they served for breakfast was a bit different from those served at 5 star hotels, the breakfast crew was very good, but received no tips. I am really sorry for them.

The building was old and probably extended some times. As a result, a little difficult to know how to evacuate in case of emergency. By the way, this is the place where Elizabeth Barrett Browning used to live for three years. It was a little comfort to me.

It was clean and very well located

Unfortunately this is a Hotel that caters to Seniors, some of whom decided from 3.30am for the next couple of hours to have loud conversations and visit each in a Hotel which has poor sound proofing. That and the noisy plumbing made for a disturbed night's sleep. I'm not sure what a Hotel can do about inconsiderate guests. Check in time was 4 pm but for an extra £10 I could check in at 1 pm. Before the Pandemic check in times were 2 pm. Now I am nickel and dimed so I can spend an extra 3 hours in a room with a view of the bins.
